Transfer Guide
A step-by-step domain
transfer guide.
Follow this guide before moving a domain to APN Cloud. A little preparation avoids delays, failed transfers and DNS problems.
Transfer OverviewPrepare first, then transfer
The safest transfer is one where the website, DNS and email records are checked before the registrar change begins
1
Check eligibility
- The domain is active and not under dispute, registry hold or recent-registration rules.
- It's not within a restricted period after a previous transfer (where registry rules apply).
- The registrant email is valid — confirmation messages may be sent there.
- Renew first if it's close to expiry and your current registrar recommends it.
2
Unlock & collect the code
- Log in to your current registrar account.
- Disable the registrar lock or transfer lock for the domain.
- Request the EPP code, authorization code or transfer secret.
- Copy the code carefully and never share it publicly.
3
Start the transfer at APN Cloud
- Open the APN Cloud domain transfer page or contact support.
- Enter the domain name and authorization code.
- Review pricing, registrant details and your DNS plan before payment.
- Complete the order and watch for approval emails.
4
After transfer completion
- Verify that nameservers and DNS records are correct.
- Check website, email, SSL and third-party services connected to the domain.
- Re-enable the domain lock once the transfer is complete.
- Update renewal settings and contact details in your APN Cloud account.
